Letter from the Editor:
One of the ironies of life is that we are always growing, whether we realize it or not. Growth goes hand in hand with change and change can be scary! I know a lot of you have been wondering what’s going on with TXTURE? In June our Instagram page of 8 years was hacked and we were unable to get it back. As the founder of this brand, that mentally dealt me a huge blow. I have personally been hands on with TXTURE from day 1 and our friends & followers are an extension of us. So to lose an entire platform in the blink of an eye is disheartening.
But every end is a new beginning and my team rallied behind me to flesh out new ideas, plans and energy to improve on moving forward. With that being said, today marks a new day, and top of 2023 we will have a new digital release featuring Shoniqua Shandai of Amazon’s Harlem as our newest cover girl.
This is a new season, metaphorically and literally speaking. It’s time to embrace newness! We would love everyone to continue to support & follow the new TXTURE Magazine page on Instagram and tell a friend to tell a friend.
With love & gratitude,
::M

After 13+ years working in entertainment & media as a celebrity makeup artist working for Nickelodeon, VH1, BET & CNN, Monifa revamped her career and created TXTURE Magazine. She noticed a void in positive imagery within the black community, especially the images of Natural Haired Black woman". So, she used her industry resources to publish TXTURE. She leverages her platform with TXTURE (print publication and communications firm) to lead in creative direction for talent, existing established brands and emerging small businesses looking for new ways to connect to a larger audience and gain brand awareness; rather than purchasing traditional advertisement.
